Assistant Construction Project Team Leader, Bryan Sullivan.

Bryan is originally from:

I am originally from the Midwest. I grew up in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois and went to school at Illinois State University.

Favorite ecosystem:

My favorite ecosystem is the temperate rainforest similar to that of The Hoh at Olympic National Park. I especially enjoy the mix of broadleaf and coniferous trees covered in moss and surrounded by ferns, critters, creeks, rivers and waterfalls. There is so much diversity within this ecosystem. I enjoy learning about trees, shrubs, herbs and their benefits to the ecosystem.

Favorite thing to do when not working:

I enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling. I especially like exploring the outdoors by kayaking, hiking and camping. After moving to the Pacific Northwest, I started mountaineering and have really enjoyed the challenge. During my down time I also enjoy spending time woodworking and creating new projects.

Role model:

My biggest role model is my mother. She is very intelligent, caring and supportive. She worked very hard to provide a safe and healthy upbringing.

Pets:

I have recently lost two wonderful dogs to old age. They were big and cuddly pit-lab mixes that slept all day and loved to eat. Now my partner and I dog-sit at our home while their owners are on vacation or business trips. This brings us much joy.

Most memorable experience in nature:

I have had many wonderful experiences in nature. While I enjoy spending quiet time observing nature in the early mornings, I will never forget climbing Mt. Hood. This was my first summit and while it was very challenging, watching the sunrise at the peak is an experience I will never forget.

Favorite food to eat or make:

I enjoy preparing healthy soups/stews and learning new grilling techniques.
