Alena is originally from:
I’m originally from a small town called Pittsford, Vermont. Growing up in New England—hiking, camping, and canoeing from an early age—fostered a love for the outdoors and a desire to inspire connection and stewardship across all user groups.
Favorite plant:
I love seeing wild roses when I’m out on hikes.
Favorite thing to do when not working:
My favorite thing to do when I’m not working is mountain biking, snowboarding, or backpacking, especially if I can bring my dog, Luna.

Childhood career ambition:
When I was little, I wanted to be an illustrator. I continue to let that artistic influence shape every aspect of my style today.
Favorite book:
I love fantasy books, especially young adult series like Eragon.
Music that instantly puts Alena in a good mood:
Folk, bluegrass, or funky EDM.
If Alena could be a superhero, her superpower would be:
I’d love to be able to fly.

Pets:
Absolutely! My partner and I have three dogs. They range in size from 40 to 90 pounds and are between 7 and 9 years old. We have quite the pack! I take my Australian Shepherd with me wherever I can.
Special talent, skill, or passion:
I have recently started getting into trail running and ultras with my fiancé. I also fly drones and enjoy getting dynamic shots of places and projects.

Most memorable experience in nature:
Two summers ago, I backpacked the entire Colorado Trail with my dog. It was an incredible experience to spend four weeks in nature, appreciating this beautiful state and the scenic places that make it up. Close seconds would be thru-hiking the Long Trail in Vermont and the John Muir Trail in California in previous summers. I hope to one day hike the AT, PCT, or CDT.
Favorite food to eat or make:
My favorite food to make and eat is vegan Pad See Ew.
