Allyson is originally from:
I am from Pasadena, Maryland. I just graduated from the University of Maryland with my bachelor’s degree in environmental science and policy and a minor in GIS. I will be back in College Park in the fall to start my master’s program in GIS!
Favorite animal:
My favorite animal is any kind of shark! They are one of the oldest species on Earth and extremely versatile. Without sharks, our oceans would not survive because they regulate food chains. Also, they are just incredibly awesome creatures, and I love finding their teeth along the shorelines!
Favorite thing to do when not working:
When I’m not working, my favorite things to do are to go to the beach and read a book, go for a hike, or workout!
Childhood career ambition:
When I was little, I wanted to be a marine biologist! I have a deep appreciation for the oceans and wanted to help protect marine life and the corals. This

My favorite film is the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice.
If Allyson could be a superhero, her superpower would be:
If I could be a superhero, my superpower would be teleportation! I love to travel, so teleportation would make that much easier and it is free!
Pets:
I have a cat named Pumpkin, I’ve had her for almost 2 years now. She is super sweet and loves to talk back when you talk to her!
Most memorable experience in nature:
My most memorable experience in nature was hiking in the Grand Tetons. The Teton mountain range is the most amazing view I’ve ever seen, and there were so many different wildlife species that I’ve never seen before on the East Coast! I highly recommend taking a trip out to the Tetons because there is nothing like them, and I will absolutely go back as soon as I can!
