An on-site natural wastewater treatment system meets all State standards for water quality.
Project Description
Hinkel Point Pizza Hut needed improvement to its existing on-site wastewater treatment system because it was not meeting the Department of Natural Resources permit specifications for the biochemical oxygen demand rate. The modifications that were made incorporated the following treatment elements:
- Primary treatment tanks (existing tanks with minor modifications)
- Constructed wetlands with optional recirculation
- Intermittent sand filter
- Disinfection system and associated pumps
- Phosphorous removal system
The system has been in operation since 2004, processing 2,000 gallons per day, with water quality meeting the required State standards.
