Senior Water Resource Engineer/Specialist

Are you committed to an ecologically sustainable future? Biohabitats is seeking a senior Water Resource Engineer/Specialist to join our Chesapeake/Delaware Bays Bioregion office (located in Baltimore, MD). This individual will be responsible for managing water resources engineering and water quality projects, designing and conducting field studies, performing hydraulic and hydrologic flow calculations, and preparing watershed management plans.

The selected candidate will also lead project teams, manage project budgets and schedules, interact with clients, perform technical writing, give client presentations and participate in business development activities.

Primary Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing water resources projects
  • Watershed management planning
  • Stormwater management planning and design (LID, ESD)
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling associated with river and wetland restoration
  • Sediment transport analysis
  • Water quality/nutrient modeling
  • Floodplain modeling
  • Public outreach
  • Business development

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • MS + in water resource engineering, watershed planning, environmental sciences, natural resources
  • 10+ years of water resource experience preferably with private consulting firm
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team atmosphere
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Client centered focus
  • LEED © accreditation a plus
  • Rosgen ILevel IV training a plus
  • Unwavering environmental ethic

Water Resource Engineer/Specialist

Biohabitats is seeking a Water Resource Engineer/Specialists to join our Hudson River Bioregion office (located in Glen Ridge, NJ) and our Southeast Bioregion office (located in Raleigh, NC). These individuals will be responsible for working on water resources engineering and water quality projects, conducting field studies, performing hydraulic and hydrologic flow calculations, and preparing watershed management plans.

The selected candidate will also be involved with technical writing, participating in project presentations and assisting with proposal preparation.

Primary Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing water resources projects
  • Watershed management planning
  • Stormwater management planning and design (LID, ESD)
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling associated with river and wetland restoration
  • Sediment transport analysis
  • Water quality/nutrient modeling

Senior Restoration Ecologist/Conservation Biologist

Biohabitats is seeking a Senior Restoration Ecologist/Conservation Biologist to join our Chesapeake/Delaware Bays Bioregion office (located in Baltimore, MD). This individual will be responsible for managing ecological restoration and conservation planning projects, conducting natural resources field studies, analyzing data, preparing conservation and watershed management plans, performing design and construction administration services for restoration projects across a wide diversity of ecosystems and scales.

The selected candidate will also lead project teams, manage project budgets and schedules, interact with clients, perform technical writing, give client presentations and participate in business development activities.

Primary Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing ecological restoration design and conservation planning projects
  • Wetland, stream and coastal habitat restoration design
  • Wildlife habitat modeling
  • Landscape ecology and conservation biology studies
  • Landscape GIS analysis
  • Restoration project construction administration
  • Public outreach
  • Business development

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • MS + in restoration ecology, conservation biology or environmental science
  • 10+ years of ecological restoration or conservation biology experience preferably with private consulting firm
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team atmosphere
  • Familiarity with GIS and AutoCAD
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Client centered focus
  • LEED © accreditation a plus
  • ESA Certified Ecologist a plus
  • Unwavering environmental ethic
