The 3 Rivers Wet Weather Demonstration Program works with 83 communities in the Allegheny County (PA) Sanitary Authority service area. No other region in the U.S, outside of Allegheny County has as many individual sewage collection systems directed to one sewage treatment facility.

Ohio River Basin Consortium for Research and Education

Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission is an interstate commission with a mission to control and abate pollution in the Ohio River Basin. It operates programs aimed at improving water quality in the Ohio River and its tributaries. These include: setting waste water discharge standards; performing biological assessments; monitoring for the chemical and physical properties of the waterways; and conducting special surveys and studies.

Staff and students of Thomas More College's River Station are working closely with federal, state, and local authorities to monitor and improve water quality in the Ohio River. They are dedicated to improving water conditions, education and preserving the rich heritage this and other waterways have to offer.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District is responsible for civil works projects within nearly 76,000 square miles of the Lower Ohio River Basin.

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's Ohio River Valley Ecosystem (ORVE) Team is composed of Service personnel from USF&W's Northeast, Southeast and Northcentral regions, and is charged with the development and implementation of a strategic plan for conserving Service trust resources in the ORVE. The ORVE Team is divided into eight subgroups, each specializing in a specific facet of the ecosystem: wetlands, migratory birds, law enforcement, endangered species, fish resources, mollusks, cave/karst habitat and outreach.
